Member of the National Drinking Water Advisory Council (NDWAC) under the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Appointed May, 1996–Current

The NDWAC advises and consults with the Administrator of E.P.A. on national policy relating to water quality and quantity issues. The Council is currently responsible for developing stakeholder consensus on major issues affecting the implementation of the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1996.

Member of the following NDWAC Working Groups:

a. Arsenic Cost Working Group to review the methodology used to estimate the national cost of implementing a new arsenic standard.

b. Operator Certification Working Group to develop the national federal guidelines under Sec. 119 of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

c. Small Systems Capacity Working Group to develop the national federal guidelines for capacity compliance under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

Cattle/Horse Rancher—Own/Operate 500 acre ranch near Hot Springs, S.D. Breed and train registered American quarter horses (AQHA).

Black Hills Hydrology Study Task Force (USGS, Bureau of Reclamation, S.D. Dept. of Environment & Natural Resources). Responsible for oversight and direction of a 20 year hydrological investigation of the Madison Aquifer in western South Dakota.

Association of Boards of Certification (ABC) for state certification boards and agencies associated with environmental certification programs for water, wastewater and laboratory certification. National Board of Director 1992–99.
